This position is an employment specialist and provides professional level human resource services to the division of Academic and Student Life and the departments of Public Affairs and Development in the President's division. Provides information, advice, and assistance to employees, supervisors, and managers regarding applicable laws, employee codes and rules, institutional personnel policies, procedures, and practices. Assists managers and employees through the entire life cycle of positions or employment at the university. Advises managers and supervisors in areas such as classification, compensation, leave issues, performance management, complaints, bargaining unit contracts, layoff, and disciplinary actions. Determines appropriate allocation and/or salary range for civil service and exempt positions. Interprets, explains, and applies CWU policies and procedures, bargaining unit contracts, as well as state and federal rules and regulations.
